The technical subteam is the team that designs, constructs, tests, and redesigns each year's robot. With newfound skill and a barrage of ideas from young minds, the WBI technical team can stand shoulder to shoulder with any group of engineers!

The TECH subteam meets nearly every day of the Build Season. They spend about a week developing the robot design, then they build and test the robot during the remaining time. Students, using all forms of metal working tools to create the individual parts, build the robot almost entirely within the school. Electronics and programming are completed when the frame has been assembled.

Being on the tech team is a large commitment of time--the meetings are long and there is always more work to be done. Despite the challenge of being on the tech team, 461 always dedicated people who work to make each season a wonderful success.
